Healthy Start is a free home visiting program that offers education and care coordination to pregnant women and families with children under the age of three.

Services are delivered by skillfully trained case management professionals, including Peer Support Outreach Workers/Home Visitors, Community Health Nurses, Fatherhood Coaches, and other qualified staff. Their primary goal is to reduce risk factors associated with preterm birth, low birth weight, infant mortality, and poor developmental outcomes.

The program focuses on multiple approaches, including improving women’s health, strengthening family health, promoting father involvement, and supporting meaningful male inclusion.

Pregnant women; new mothers; women between pregnancies; infants up to three years old; fathers and father figures who reside in 33602, 33603, 33604, 33605, 33607. 33610, 33612, 33613, and 33617 zip codes.

• In-person visits in the home or community setting
• Prenatal and parenting education
• Interconception education including reproductive life planning
• Stress management education
• Care coordination to help families learn about resources available in the community and assistance in accessing those services
• Fatherhood coaching, tools, and strategies
• Mental health services (available to women and men)
